Unfortunately the bees decided our deck was just to nice a place to build a nest. And one day a certain little 2 year old decided to climb the entire deck stairs (a full flight). Nothing major happened, I went up and brought him back down. Told him not to go up the stairs, and off we went to go find the trucks.
The next day, that same little guy decided to do it again. You know, cause of the whole rebellious nature of a two year old (or any age child, really). Todd said something about bees being up there, so I calmly told him to come back down. And I stood at the bottom waiting. Cause, as you know, he did the same thing the day before with no ill effects. And I had snuffed out the bees a few weeks prior. And the fact that I saw no bees.
Not two seconds later I heard those blood curdling screams again and looked up to find bees swarming around my poor little ones head. I ran up the steps, two at a time and yanked him down by the straps of his overalls. We flew back down the stairs and off across the yard. But of course, it was all to late.

The bees came back
One got him right in the face. Again. and gave him a lovely red and purple eye.
and one got me right in the arm.
My whole upper arm blew up this time and was bright red and hot for like 3 days! I think I may just ask the doctor about getting an epi pen at some point, just in case. And did you also know that honey is supposed to be a natural remedy for stings? I tried it. Seemed like maybe it helped a tiny bit. It still hurt like the dickens for a couple of days though.

Hi, I came across your blog from the comments at Frugal Granola!! My 2 year old has been stung by wasps twice in the past few weeks. He wasn't bothered too much (he's uber tough - unlike my 4 year old....) by the first one, but the second time sent him over the edge. I called my mom to see if she had a home remedy and she said to soak a napkin/paper towel in regular vinegar and place on the sting. He stopped crying in less than a minute and was ready to play again!! I thought it might be helpful to you in case you or your little one get stung again.
